It’s not a holiday unless we can bake on theme, right?
Last fall’s Halloween Bark was such a success that I thought I’d adapt it to a different holiday: St. Patrick’s Day! I’ve had to work super long hours on St. Patrick’s Day over the last few years and while I’m not planning to rage on Thursday, I’m so excited to not have to work. (insert victory dance)
Instead of loading up on Guinness, I’ll be grabbing dinner with some old roommates and indulging in green bark. I feel old saying this but the low key ‘celebration’ is way more my style, especially on a weeknight.
I’m heading back to school next week (more on that later) so I’m enjoying this last week of freedom to make whatever I want. Ironically I’m going back to school to get certified in chocolate making and I’ve used my last week of freedom to make chocolate bark. Maybe that’s why I’m looking to educate myself in the art of chocolate – because I love it SO MUCH. But actually.
- 11 Ounces white chocolate chips
- 2 Drops of green food gel
- ¼ Cup chopped green M&Ms
- ¼ Cup Lucky Charms cereal marshmallows
- Line a baking sheet with a non-stick mat and set aside
- Using a double boiler, melt chocolate
- Pour half of it onto the prepared sheet
- Add two drops of food gel to remaining chocolate
- Combine completely and then pour onto prepared sheet with other chocolate (use your personal taste to decide how you want to combine the two chocolates to make a swirled pattern)
- Use a rubber spatula to shape the chocolate into the bark shape you would like
- Sprinkle the bark base with the M&Ms and marshmallows
- Refrigerate until firm, about two hours
