I could talk about my food favorites all day every day, but I’ll spare you listening to me talk on Instagram stories and limit myself to listing my only five of my food favorites.
I’ve been really feeling berries of late so this list is largely inspired by strawberries. Ever since I saw the Strawberry cat bed at Home Goods I’ve been obsessed with this beautiful red berry! I was debating buying it and decided not to but that’s one impulse purchase I wish I had made.
The Kate Spade strawberry tumbler is on my list but honestly, I would have put the entire line on there if I could. I can’t look at those bowls and not imagine them full of fresh fruit during my next picnic. Or at least outdoor meal. I think I’ve spent the majority of my summer eating meals on my parents’ screened in porch. It’s great because I’m not overly outdoorsy (despite my father dragging me on annual father-daughter camping trips with his friends) so the screened in porch feels like a safe happy medium between my desire to be outside and my aversion to bugs.
Speaking of my parents’ house (I feel like that’s all I do lately), I saw these napkins and fell in love. My mom and I share a love for houses decorated on a white and blue motif so I immediately bought these for her when I stumbled upon these. Stumbled upon is a stretch. I was actively searching Crate & Barrel for a housewarming gift and landed on these.
So I know I said that this list was berry-inspired, and despite it not seeming that way, I promise you it is. Loosely. Very loosely. A lot of these items I’m buying for my parents because they remind me of their home. And their home is always filled with berries. Okay, I warned you it was a loose connection but I’m running with it now.
Alright, now onto my favorite item on the list. There are some items that I never really appreciated until I was truly an adult: vacuums, ovens, and yes, picnic baskets. A good picnic basket that is both functional and pleasing to the eye is always handy to have around the during the summer. In addition to filling it with strawberries and blueberries (see what I did there, tied it back to the theme!), they make the perfect accessory to any outdoor movie nights or romantic picnics! Have I been on any romantic picnics lately? No, but that doesn’t mean I’ve entirely given up hope on them either!
I’ve been really into fruit pops and boozy fruit drinks so this poptail manual seemed like the PERFECT union of my two loves. I can’t wait to start crafting (and freezing) some of these treats up and sharing the recipes with you. Who else loves a good boozy pop? *raises hand as high as it will possibly go and waves it in the air*
And to close out this week’s five food favorites is of course, something millennial pink. I’m sorry but on a more serious note I’m definitely #notsorry. I love that color and won’t be done shopping until I have a whole kitchen set in millennial pink. (Don’t tell Colin) Can you imagine how beautiful a big strawberry pie would be in this? Or maybe even strawberry rhubarb now that I’m obsessed with the pink celery-looking fruit?!
What are your food favorites this week? Let me know so I can check them out!
