If you follow along on my Instagram stories, you probably noticed that May was a very busy travel month for me! Usually when I travel it’s because of something wedding or family-related but this time around, I took a trip out west just for myself. That’s right, I packed up my favorite carry on (leaving lots of room for swag), a needlepoint project for the plane and lots of protein bars to keep me fueled throughout the long conference days, and I headed to the Everything Food Conference!
Confession time: This trip was first time traveling by myself. Sure, I’d flown alone but always to meet up with someone on the other end. I’m not one for leaving my comfort zone so this was a big deal for me. Plus I was worried about spending money to travel so far for something I’d been treating like a hobby for so long (read: this blog). Well, If you’re wondering whether to take the plunge and commit to going to a food blog conference I can’t recommend Everything Food Conference enough!
In addition to brushing up on some forgotten skills (hay SEO hayyy) and gaining the courage to take my own blog seriously (forget hobby, this baby is my second job), I met so many amazing women who are kicking butt with their food blogs!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made some great f friends through blogging over the years. I reconnected with Katie, a sorority sister from college, and met some awesome lifestyle and fashion bloggers like Monica, Ashlee and Audrey through Instagram! Until a few weeks ago though, I hadn’t done a good job of networking with other food bloggers. Sure, we don’t all focus on dessert, and many of them are far healthier than I’ll ever dream of being, but it was so inspiring to see so many driven and creative peers working their niches and doing what they love.
I could drone on and on about these great women but I thought I’d share some of their posts instead so y’all can see for yourselves the drool-worthy work they are doing!
